The Benefits of Portfolio, Programme and Project Offices

A P3O® model provides the structure, governance, functions and services required for defining a balanced portfolio of change and ensuring consistent delivery of programmes and projects across an organization or department. It could successfully take many forms, all of which are explored within the P3O® guidance – from a single all-encompassing physical office to a complex model made up of a permanent Portfolio Office supported by permanent hubs and temporary Programme/Project Offices.

P3O® Combined Only £1250!!! (Usually £1500) 19-23rd January 2015

Book by the end of November – and receive our MoP® Foundation Interactive Learning License FREE! (License valid for 12 months upon completion of your course)

The course takes place in our Bath training centre. Our location offers small group numbers (max 8) enabling us to provide a flexible and personalised face-to-face training experience.

Who is it for?

This course is ideal for any staff involved in P3O® roles who wish to gain a qualification, for example:

  • Head of P3O® (Portfolio Office, Programme Office or Centre of Excellence)
  • Portfolio, Programme or Project Office staff
  • Portfolio, Programme or Project staff looking to work within a P3O® model

The first 3 days of this course are intense and practical experience of working in a P3O® model is an advantage, although not essential. For more information, click here for the course outline.

PMI report on PMO Frameworks

In this blog we have included a paper issued by the PMI as part of their Pulse of the Profession series.

This report is the result of a global survey into the status of PMO (Portfolio Offices) maturity, and it has identified that many have a number of fundamental weaknesses.

This is complimenting Aspire Europe research and results from 4 years of P3M3 maturity assessments, which is showing most organisations being at a surprisingly low level of maturity.

It was the weakness of the majority of organisations frameworks that led to Aspire Europe developing the Align Framework to provide an off the shelf product to address the management framework challenges that most organisations are suffering from, for more information on the Aspire Europe Align Framework please visit

Aspire Europe launch the Align Framework version 2

Aspire Europe is excited to announce the launch of version 2 of the Align Framework.  The Align Framework is a key element of successful project and programme management and has been built to provide a foundation for organisations to achieve higher levels of performance and maturity

Does your organisation suffer from poor or inconsistent project delivery?  Does your organisation have…

  • Incomplete frameworks?
  • Frameworks that replicate manuals and basic theory but add no value?
  • Lifecycles which are rarely adequate?
  • Themes such as risk, which are not connected to the lifecycle in any way, or sit in isolation?
  • Generic role definitions with no application of the responsibilities?
  • Templates that bear no resemblance to the lifecycle or processes?
  • No relationship between programme and project management systems
  • Training investment that is unconnected to day to day delivery?

The Align Framework underpins portfolio management by: providing a consistent management framework for programme and projects; helping organisations that have a framework to integrate their approach; addressing gaps, and; building current processes into a portal accessible across the organisation.

The Align Framework is available in a number of formats and organisations in the early stages of development will have a framework that is scalable and will sustain their growth into the future.
