Congratulations to the Plymouth CC Apprentices

As part of our long-standing relationship with Plymouth CC we are really pleased that their 5 project management apprentices and 4 from across the council, have been recognised in a national completion, they really deserve it.

Here is the detail (from Plymouth CC)

Our nine apprentices, who have been taking part in the Brathay Apprentice Challenge have been announced as joint winners of the Brathay’s Community Project Award, for their orchard project in Ernesettle and joint runners up in the main competition.

The finalists were selected from 50 teams and 700 apprentices who entered the Challenge. Since January, the competing teams have staged more than 300 school visits to talk about the benefits of apprenticeships, recruited over 100 employers and delivered 47 community projects.

Our team of apprentices, came second in the finals of the Brathay Apprentice Challenge after raising over £3,300 for Epilepsy UK and creating a community orchard.

They would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported their challenge, helped them raise money for Epilepsy UK and provided guidance and advice over the last seven months.

The Brathay Apprentice Challenge, the official search for the apprentice team of the year is supported by the National Apprenticeship Service and saw eight finalists raise over £41,000 for nine charities. In the past four years the Challenge has raised over £136,000 for charities across the country.

Upcoming MSP® Survival Guides

Following on the success of the MSP® Survival Guide for BCMs, two more books in the Survival Guide series will be launched in the autumn. mspsurvive

The Survival Guides are written specifically with a role in mind. The BCM guide focused on benefits, the techniques and processes of business change that the main manual could not cover.

The MSP® Survival Guide for Programme Managers is just about to go into production and will be available in the early Autumn. It focuses on the techniques needed by programme managers and how to interpret MSP® into things they must do, should do and might do.

The MSP® Survival Guide for SROs has just been completed and is being distributed by the TSO (publisher) to a select group of programme leaders around the world for their comments, and it will be on the bookshelves sometime around November.

The books have been written by Aspire Europe programme consultants and trainers to bring a wealth of expertise, in a plain talking, practical style.

Improve your benefits management performance!

“However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results” – Winston Churchill

FACT: KPMG in 2006 analysed that 80% of benefits defined in business cases never get delivered.

FACT: Aspire Europe’s research into organisational maturity levels has supported this, with 90% of organisations being at Level 1 maturity, which means benefits delivery will be ad-hoc or heroic.

Times are changing and organisations are demanding better benefits delivery and higher levels of competency from staff.

This is the ultimate benefits management i-learning course that pulls together all the key concepts into one place and builds in practical examples, podcasts and plenty of interactive exercises.
